I cannot believe that 2021 is over. It was a devastating year for police and very sad to say that too many Law Enforcement Officers were lost this year to gunfire, car accidents, COVID and numerous other incidents. We also lost officers to suicide, another issue plaguing the law enforcement community. Listed below are some of the monumental statistics for 2021; I hope and pray that these numbers diminish in 2022.
The following statistics are reported by the National FOP:
- 346 Officers shot in 2021
- 63 Officers killed by gunfire in 2021
- 130 Officers were shot in 2021
- 103 Separate ambush style attacks in 2021
- Ambush style attacks are up 115% from this time in 2020
- 512 Police Officer Line of Duty Deaths in 2021
The following stats are from First H.E.L.P:
- 131 Officers had committed suicide in 2021
The National Center for Police Defense (NCPD) is currently helping 9 officers that are preparing for trial this year across the United States. I believe based on last year’s statistics that the outlook for 2022 is even worse. We need to work together and unseat these woke progressive District Attorneys and Commonwealth Attorneys as they come up for re-election. If Law Enforcement acts as a team, I am confident that we can evict the progressives from office in 2022.
Please consider donating to assist in the trials of the 9 officers we are supporting (so far!) this year. These officers and their families deserve our help as they navigate the worst time in their lives and face unjust media attacks, progressive judges, and unfair charges.
Sincerely,
Bert Eyler
Vice President
