Officer Chance Bretches- Austin, TX
Officer Chance Bretches faces 99 years in prison. His “crime”? He and his fellow officers used non-lethal measures to stop a BLM riot.
Chance was one of 21 officers charged for using non-lethal measures during the riots, and the prosecutor dropped charges against 17 of the officers when those cases collapsed for lack of evidence.
We don’t know why Chance’s case wasn’t dropped even though his actions were the same as those of the 17 officers whose cases were dropped.
